Muddy Toledo

In the 1830s, there was a boundary dispute between the states of Ohio
and Michigan over a narrow strip of land known as the "Toledo Strip."
The dispute even led to some minor skirmishes, although no lives were
lost. Eventually, the matter was settled in Ohio's favor, and Toledo
became part of the state. This event is known as the Toledo War.

Toledo is often credited as the birthplace of the Jeep. The
Willys-Overland Company, based in Toledo, produced the Willys MB during
World War II, which is considered one of the earliest prototypes of the
modern Jeep. The city has a long history of automobile manufacturing and
is home to the Jeep production facility.

Toledo has a rich history in the glass industry and is sometimes
referred to as the "Glass City" or the "Glass Capital of the World." The city's association with glass dates back to the late 19th century and has produced some of the most renowned glass products, including stained
glass and industrial glassware. The Toledo Museum of Art is also home to a remarkable glass collection, showcasing the city's glass-making legacy.
